TFE1000 is the new card reader designed to fulfil the Italian requirements for driver authentication. The TFE1000 together with the TELOC represents the DIS solution of Hasler Rail for the Italian market. The previous generation of card reader, the TFE106/TFE105, are completely replaced by the TFE1000.
TFE1000 is compatible with the main driving license used in Italy, Trenitalia and RFI, and is able to digitally sign Zones as required by the DIS standard.
The new generation of TFE is able to read data from standard smart card (ISO/IEC 7816) and can be extended via additional port for other means of authentication such as biometric devices.
TFE1000 is the first product derived by the Orange technology platform of Hasler Rail. The Orange technology platform based on TELOC design allow Hasler to have one design solution to support different applications. This harmonization allows Hasler to improve security on its product by developing controls in one product streams and then deploys it on all the other applications.
